I have actually been to Joons last year with some of the HK crew.. but I didn't eat much because it was 3h. This time, I went with Yoko and we were starving. We decided on the bibimlap and this other soup dish... I think it was a stew. Yoko chose it and it was really good! I would have never tried it... we asked them to tone down the spicy nice and it was perfect. The tofu and the spicyness complimented each other.

Halibut Burrito

Steak Burrito
I haven't seen Mike in years. The last time I probably saw him was before I started university. We decided to meet up before I go since I was going to be down at Union Station exchanging my VIA rail tickets. We decided to go to Burrito Boyz. The halibut was disappointing.. I had it with Ruth last year at the Queen/Peter location and it was absolutely amazing!! This time it wasn't up to par :( But nevertheless it was still alright.

Mango Salad & Soup of the Day

Green Curry Chicken with Rice

Pad Thai with Pork
This time, Ju took me out for a very belated birthday lunch. We decided upon thai food. The pad thai there was alright.. I think I still prefer Coconut Island's Phai Thai. hehe
I didn't like the mango salad at all. :( Ju didn't enjoy his soup either.

I met up with Sonia before she started her full time work in the real world. :) We went to J-Town for some Japanese food. I had the Udon with Tempura. The noodles didn't taste like they were defrosted. It was okay, not sure if it's worth that price.
But Sonia's curry tasted good... though probably from the packaged curry they were selling in the supermarket there.
I want to go back to try the curry hehe :)

Martin's Grilled Chicken, Spring Roll and Vegetable Vermicelli
My Pork, Spring Roll, some other piece of pork with Vegetable Vermicelli
Before Martin left Toronto, we decided to go for more vietnamese food :) since its his favouriteeeeeeee! We tried Pho Hung, since we had Anh Dao the other day. We both wanted the bun (vermicelli). I wanted to see which place I liked better.
I prefer Anh Dao more for their buns. The texture of the pork and the texture of the fried spring roll was muchh better, in my opinion, at Anh Dao.
Thank you Martin for lunch! :)

Chicken Shawarma

Lamb Shawarma
After waiting sooo long, I finally tried Farhat. Their shawarmas are cheap and good. :) Will and I decided to go after playing two hours of semi intense tennis. haha We decided to get the chicken and lamb. As we were lining up, we overheard most people ordering chicken and lamb too. hehe
The chicken was great. A lot better than I thought it would be. I'm not a fan of chicken in sandwiches, because I often find it dry. The chicken in this shawarma was moist. The lamb was not as good as I had imagined it to be, but nevertheless it was still good. I found it very flavourful. Perhaps I should have tried the lamb then chicken. :)

Meat

Veggie
This is a deli/pizza bar. I decided to take Sab there for her birthday lunch, since it was close to her work. There are always long lineups, but it moves pretty quickly. I love their sandwiches here. I honestly can't remember what we ordered. I really liked the veggie one.. I loved the colors. The meat.. I cant remember. I know I didn't like it as much because it was a bit too salty for me. They have a variety of sandwiches, pizza, pastas and salads.

My sister's noodles and my salmon/sushi bento

Sushi and Salmon
I met up with my sister after my interview for lunch. We had to do a quick lunch, for she only had an hour and I had to go to the library to research. We decided to go for sushi on Bloor Street. I haven't read anything about the restaurant, but on the door it had the Toronto Life signs. Overall, I think it was pricey and not super omg I have to go back type of place. hehehehe
I much prefer my big yummy inexpensive spider rolls at Bongs, which my sister still hasn't tried.

I went for lunch with my parents, eldest sister and my grandma today. My dad wanted to go to the new Shanghai restaurant across from Market Village. We arrived shortly after 12:30pm and the lady told us there was a 30+ mins wait. Normally.. my dad would not wait, but because he wanted to try it we decided to wait. I think the wait was close to 45 mins. Anyhow, I didnt take any pictures. We went with the popular dishes the Shanghai fried noodles, Shanghai steamed mini bun with pork, spicy beef noodle soup, and some dessert that i dont know the name.
I wanted my sticky rice, but the waitress put in the wrong order so I never got it. :(
Everyone who worked there speaked mandarin which gave it some kind of shanghai feel. hehe
The fried noodles were really thick and chewy, which was good. The beef in the spicy noodle soup was very soft and yummy. And the skin of the xiao long bao was really thin. Overall, I think I like this place better than Asian Legend. But then again thoses arent my favourite dishes at Asian Legend anyways. And I probably wont go back here to wait another 45 minutes. Though for the noodle dishes.. I find the prices very average, not too expensive :)

Jer's homemade beef noodle soup

My homemade beef noodles without soup

stinky tofu?
I love this noodle house! One of my favourite noodle places, except this time there was so much oil and msg.. or maybe it was the tofu. I love Asian Legend's chunky beef noodles, but I think this place has become my favourite. I love the texture of the noodles.. I wasnt able to take any upclose of the noodles because I was starvinggg.
If you look closely you can see the sauce in my bowl.. which makes up for the soup. :)

Instead of bread, we got that =/ Left, is my lamb pita..

Yuki's Kefta

Mühalabiya
I haven't seen Yuki since... I cant even remember!!!!! I decided to take her to try middle eastern food. :) This place also had very good reviews.
I decided to go with the Lamb Pita and it was delicious. The crappy picture doesn't do it justice. I didnt want to take a picture of my half eaten pita and also because my hands were dirty from the sauce. But it was goooooddd!!
Yuki decided to get the Kefta, which is charboiled ground mixed lamb and beef with onions, parsley, garlic and spices. It wasnt too dry. It was very good too. Yuki really liked it.
For desserts, we decided to share Mühalabiya. It is mastic flavoured custard topped off with pistachios and rose water syrup. It tasted very refreshing with a hint of sweetness. It was very different.. but not bad.
