I met up with Sonia before she started her full time work in the real world. :) We went to J-Town for some Japanese food. I had the Udon with Tempura. The noodles didn't taste like they were defrosted. It was okay, not sure if it's worth that price.
But Sonia's curry tasted good... though probably from the packaged curry they were selling in the supermarket there.
I want to go back to try the curry hehe :)

After spending an hour at the beach, Ruth and I decided to go check out Konditor and Zane. They are pastries places. We decided to try something at Konditor, since there were more people there. They had the sign of the world's best apple pie. I never believe these signs but we decide to try it anyways because it looked good. It wasn't the world's best. I actually like my own more. hahaha We got the vanilla sauce and got ripped off too. hehe

I have a thing for bagels. They are also my enemies because of the high calories, but I still love them. For these bagels, I made my way all the way to Bathurst and Lawrence.. it was quite the trip.. and I enjoyed them sitting outside on a dirty picnic table beside a coin laundry. hahe
I learned about this bagel place from the Toronto Star. I also learned the difference between Montreal vs New York bagels.
Montreal bagels are boiled in honey water and then baked in a woodburning oven, whereas New York bagels are boiled in water with salt and then baked in a regular oven.
Montreal bagels are dense and chewy and New York bagels are puffy and tend to be bigger.
Gryfe's bagel is different.. its not too big, nor too dense. I think I like them better than both the Montreal and New York bagels :)

Pixel 8; Spicy Ramen

Spicy Ramen ingredients
Everyone had plans on Canada except Will and I. How sad. :( We decided to go watch Fireworks at Milne Park in Markham and have dinner at Pixel 8 before going. My sister went there and said the ramen was pretty good - sorry DDD, I had ramen without you... i'll go with you next time.
The spicy ramen was not mild.. it was sooooo spicy. My mouth felt like it was on fire. The noodles tasted very fresh and chewy, at least I thought so.
Apparently Simon from UTSC worked there.. but I didn't see him until I was leaving.
I think I like their noodles more than Takebashi. Though, I have to go back to try something less spicy to compare.
