hodo kwaja

I read about these Walnut Cakes on chowhound, but I never got a chance to actually taste it. Even when I had class downtown, I was always too lazy to go or just never had the time to make my way there. Since Yoko and I were already in Korean-town, we decided to make our way over to try them. We bought 6.. I think it was 6 for a 1 or 1.5$. There were three flavours.. red bean paste, mashed potato & walnut and mashed potato & almond. The lady threw all them in one bag. It was very hard to distingush which was which. I think red bean was my favourite.

I have actually been to Joons last year with some of the HK crew.. but I didn't eat much because it was 3h. This time, I went with Yoko and we were starving. We decided on the bibimlap and this other soup dish... I think it was a stew. Yoko chose it and it was really good! I would have never tried it... we asked them to tone down the spicy nice and it was perfect. The tofu and the spicyness complimented each other.

green tea eggtarts

I loveee eggtarts. I love the flakey ones.. they are the best! Anyways, I saw these one day at T&T, but I was too full to try it.
Though, Yoko and I decided to try it when she came to visit in January. Good thing we decided to share half, it just didn't taste right. I don't know how to describe it... except I will never eat it again.

Potage du jour - I think it was leek and potatos.

Left - Meat Pie; Right - Ruth's quiche

Maple Syrup Pie? and Blueberry Pie.
I finally got around to posting this. This was from way back when Ruth came to visit me in Quebec back in November. We decided to go eat an authentic Quebec meal... but we were both too chicken to taste really Quebec food such as horse. I stuck with regular meat pie.. I was not brave enough to try the game meat. Maybe next time. :)
This place had a lunch special for 14,95$ and the lunch special was from 12h to 18h. Pretty good deal... early dinner :)
